Heirsay is a private home for your family's memories. Build your family tree, invite your relatives, and save the voices, faces and stories your children should grow up knowing.

Hear them

Save old voicemails, tapes and new recordings, so your kids can press a name and hear who it was.

See them

Keep photos and videos together on the right person's page, not scattered across old phones.

Know them

Where they were born, what they did, what they always said, and the stories only your family can tell.

How it works

Draw your tree

Add your parents, grandparents and children. Start with one person and grow it whenever you like.

Ask your family

Send relatives one simple question, then a new one each week. They answer by writing or recording from a link, with no app to install.

"Denise, have you got any old voicemails from Pearl?"Your invite to Auntie Denise

Pass it on

Years from now, your children open the tree, choose a name and meet the people they missed.

Everyone gets a page.

Some stories belong in their hands.

Make a personalised book of someone's life. Every copy will have its own code: scan it to add their photos and voice notes, with 1 GB of free space included, and scan it again any time to hear them.

Yours, even if we ever close.

Private by default

Only the relatives you invite can see your family. Nothing appears on the public web.

Download everything, any time

Your photos, recordings and stories are yours. Take a full copy whenever you want.

Two copies, two companies

Every file is stored twice, so one failure can't wipe out your family's memories.

Safe from accidents

Deleted items wait in a bin for 30 days, and you choose what each relative is allowed to do.

Real voices only

We won't make AI copies of your family's voices, and we won't sell your memories or show you ads.

No lost memories if you stop paying

You can't add anything new, but everything stays there to view and download.

Two ways to keep them.

Start your own family's tree and invite everyone in.

Good questions

What if my parent has already passed away?

That's who Heirsay is for. Start with whatever you have, like a voicemail or an old video, then ask relatives for their photos and stories.

My grandparents won't use an app. Is that a problem?

No. Someone in the family can record them and upload it, and relatives can reply from a simple link.

Can I add old tapes and home videos?

Yes, once they're digital files. You can upload recordings and video straight from your phone or computer.

Who can see our family?

Only people you invite. You can remove someone at any time.

What's the difference between the plans?

Keepsake is one payment for your family tree, 2 photos per person and an online book for each person. Family is yearly and adds voice notes and many more photos.

Is there a printed book?

It's coming. Both plans include an online book you fill in for each person. You'll also be able to order a personalised printed book for your mum, dad, grandparents or a friend, with a code to scan and hear their voice.

What does the code in a printed book do?

Every printed book will have its own code. Scan it to set up that person's page with 1 GB of free space for photos and voice notes, with no online plan needed. After that, anyone holding the book can scan it to see and hear what you've chosen to show. Everything else stays private.

Can I give Heirsay as a gift?

Yes. Pick a date and we'll email them your message with their invite, or print a gift card.

What happens if Heirsay ever closes?

You can download everything at any time, and we'd give every family notice and time to take a full copy before anything goes offline.

One day, someone will ask what she sounded like.

Early preview: the Bennetts are made up, and some features described here aren't finished yet. Please don't rely on it as the only copy of your memories.

The people who knew them best aren't always related. Add best friends, godparents and neighbours, and give them a page too.
